Education
John grew up in Douglas County, Kansas and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas in 1983. He then went on to earn his law degree from Washburn University in 1986.
Practice
John has had his office in Downtown Lawrence since 1986.
Current Associations
John is a member of the Douglas County Criminal Defense Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association and currently serves as a Disciplinary Investigator for the state of Kansas. He has served on occasion as Pro Tem Judge in the Lawrence Municipal Court.
Past Associations
John served on the original Douglas County Juvenile Appointed Defense Panel as well as 18 years on the Adult Criminal Defense Panel.
Activities
John is an avid runner and loves to fish. He has participated in many marathons including Boston in 2013 where he witnessed the terrorist bomb attack. He recently completed the 2015 Boston Marathon.
